TN Category for Canadian and Mexican Professionals

√ Must be a national of Canada or Mexico
√ Must be coming to U.S. to work in a profession listed on the NAFTA schedule
√ Must have a valid job offer from employer
√ Applicant has the necessary credentials
√ There is no prevailing wage requirement.
√ Canadian nationals do not need to apply for a visa at a U.S. consulate and can apply for admission through pre-flight inspection/Customs Border Patrol (CBP) port of entry.
√ Mexican nationals have to apply for a visa at a U.S. consulate. Afterwards, they can apply for admission at pre-flight inspection/Customs Border Patrol (CBP) port of entry.
√ The initial period of stay is up to 3 years with indefinite extensions.
√ Dependents are not allowed to work but may study.
√ They will be granted the same period of stay as the TN worker.
