USCIS tweeted (yes, tweeted) this morning that they have extended the H-1B lottery registration period to Monday, March 20 at 2PM PST / 5PM EST because their online payment option stopped working yesterday.  USCIS confirmed that the crash was due to high user traffic.

The registration window was scheduled to close today, Friday, March 17 at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST.  

What a relief! We have been able to submit registrations today with no issue, but are glad to have the extra time until Monday.  

USCIS will notify employers and their attorneys of selected registrations by the end of March.  We’ll be sure to send out an update as soon as we hear USCIS has started sending out selection notices.
