USCIS Extends Suspension of In-Person Services to May 3

USCIS has extended its temporary suspension of all in-person services further from April 1 to May 3 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  Face-to-face services have been cancelled at all field offices, asylum offices, and Application Support Centers (ASCs) until May 3.

Emergency services will remain available.

Services that do not require direct contact with the public will continue to be performed by USCIS employees in these offices.

Foreign nationals whose interviews and appointments have been cancelled will receive notices from USCIS with new appointment dates once USCIS resumes these services.

In the meantime, USCIS has decided to re-use previously collected biometrics for applications to extend employment authorization (Form I-765). This hopefully will avoid unnecessary delays in processing these applications.
